View Royal - April 2016 Activity

As the Times Columnist reported:

"It was a month like no other in real estate history in Greater Victoria as more properties sold in April than in any other month since 1991."

For View Royal that translated into 32 single family homes selling or pending sale in April 2016, with a median sell price of $615,000 and an average days on market of only 13 days.  These stats definitely reflect the hot market we keep hearing about in the media.

There doesn't seem to be a slow down in buyers wanting to live in View Royal, so for the immediate future it appears it will remain a sellers market.

View Royal has a lot to offer: a great transit system, easy access to the Galloping Goose, close to downtown, family friendly neighbourhoods, a variety of restaurants and services, nearby public libraries and recreation centres, and with summer upon us, la creme de la creme, Thetis Lake.  Perhaps the single greatest external influence on home prices in View Royal is Thetis Lake, especially for the homes located within walking distance to the park.

A day at the lake just got a little more refreshing as Pop! Frozen Yogurt was the first business to open its doors in the much anticipated Lakeside Village retail building on Six Mile Road, just before Thetis Lake.  With Urban Ground Market now open for business as well, we all look forward to seeing Lakeside Village grow and become another draw to locals, visitors and homebuyers alike.

I fully support Jeff's initiative particularly since the Town of View Royal (ToVR) has failed to install roundabouts on 6 mile road as indicated when the original nursery was sold for development. I understand the developers in the area were supposed to financially support the building of the roundabouts...I have put in a request for information to the ToVR on what was done with the money...I am awaiting a reply....

We fully support Jeff's initiative, and feel this is very important to us and our community safety. There are many children in the area and we must do our best to protect them, and any cost!!!
